Yorkshire: White Rose woes!
These are not happy times for the Tykes.

On the field the most disturbing fact is the complete loss of form of Gavin Hamilton, their Scots-born all-rounder, who has been relegated to the Second XI for rehabilitation.
'He's one of the most talented players in the club and a potential match-winner with both bat and ball,' Wayne Clark, the coach, said. 'He's done everything right as far as I can see: he went to Perth in the winter to Peter Carlstein's school, he was okay in the trial matches, but suddenly in our game against Bradford/Leeds UCCE he completely lost it. It's a very unfortunate situation but he'll have to go back into the colts team and try to rebuild his confidence.'

Hamilton, who was rudely discarded by England after his one Test appearance in South Africa during the winter of 1999/2000, when he bagged a pair and took 0 for 63, is one of those players who is eager to do well and works his socks off. But cricket is the cruellest game of all.

Gavin's problems after yipping up and bowling that infamous 15 ball over have put him in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. It seemed nothing that any coaching could do would help him - he had even been hypnotised by Paul McKenna - but nothing had worked. Eventually Gavin turned to Martyn Court and the powerful PP Method. After a couple of hours work Gavin ventured out for the first time and bowled for his club side bowling 18 overs, no wides and two wickets. Then followed two short spells for Yorkshire 2nd XI with two wickets in each spell, followed by a 4fer against Essex.

Steve Adshead

Steve Adshead keeping for Worcester where he took a stunning catch to dimiss Jacque Kallis.
17/6/03 - Adshead leads Seconds to victory Steve Adshead hammered a dazzling century as Worcestershire pulled off a thrilling one-wicket win in yesterday's Second Eleven Trophy clash against Somerset at North Perrott. The County clinched victory with one ball to spare after Adshead had plundered 141 off 117 balls which included 18 fours. Earlier, Somerset, after being put in, made 300-5 off their 50 overs with Matthew Wood cracking 85 (nine fours) and Carl Gazzard 75 (eight fours). The County made a confident start to their reply with Adshead in commanding form. His efforts were well backed up by Kadeer Ali who hit 60 off 93 balls. He cracked seven fours.

Steve Adshead: "When I left Leicestershire the future looked bleak. A lot of negative emotions surfaced that I didn't know how to deal with. Martyn taught me his PP Method and I was quickly able to refocus myself and drop negativity. Sure it came and went to start with and I'd ring him for a few reminders but every part of my life started to get better. I rediscovered my motivation and enjoyed a brilliant summer. My keeping has been top quality and I have played all around the country scoring hundreds (some big hundreds) everywhere I've played. My approach is more relaxed, more positive, I am definitely more mature, I'm loving my cricket and I've been offered a contract for 2004 with Gloucestershire. I'm really looking forward to working with and learning from Jack (Russell). But I have to say without Martyn's help it could have been all too different. It's MY talent but he has helped me focus it and express it. I can't imagine why anybody wouldn't want the benefits of the work he does. Cheers Mate. Here's to an even better 2004!!"

England U19's

Tom New (left) and Luke Wright (right) are both England U19 players with big futures. They have both worked with me and say "his easy and friendly style makes it easy to work on personal issues - rare with psychologists"

Luke said "I became more relaxed before and whilst at the crease. Martyn helped my self-belief. I also became more confident about hitting the pitch harder when bowling"

Steve Kirby

"For me Martyn has been the missing link My ability to focus has been a great strength but I didn't always focus in ways that best served me. I do now! At the start of this season I knew I was bowling well but I couldn't but a wicket. After a couple of hours with Martyn I went out and took a 5fer and 7fer to beat Ray Illingworth's Yorkshire best record. I've since continued to grow and mature as a bowler and person with Martyn's occasional input. I asked him if he could bottle it for me. This PP Method that he's created is the best thing since sliced bread. He's a canny lad.
For me this season has got better and better. Martyn has taught me the tools to continually be the best that I can be. Cheers Big Lad!"
